Mark Wahlberg On The Worst Advice He Ever Got…Surprise, It’s From M. Night Shyamalan

“The Happening” may have been a critical flop, but nobody can say Mark Wahlberg holds any grudges against his erstwhile director M. Night Shyamalan. “He’s a sweet guy,” Wahlberg told us. “For whatever mistakes he’s made, I think he’s learned from them and he’s a true artist.”

But that doesn’t mean he’s fishing for career advice from the guy. Because as Wahlberg related, when he saw his ucpoming weapons-toting hero Max Payne in the editing room, “I was like, ‘Yes! This is the sh-t I need to be doing! This is the stuff that makes people say, ‘You know what, you’re the man!’ This is it!’”

Which brings us to M. Night’s probably ill-fated recommendation. “[Night] gave me the worst advice he could have ever given me. He said, ‘After [‘The Happening’], you can never hold a gun again. You know that, right?’ I said, ‘Are you crazy?’ He said, ‘I’m serious, don’t ever hold a gun again.’ And I said, ‘I don’t know about that, man.’”

Mark Wahlberg to make cameo appearance on `Entourage’

Fall is full for Mark Wahlberg. The 37-year-old actor-producer has upcoming productions in film, television — and his own family.
Wahlberg will make a rare cameo appearance on “Entourage,” the hit HBO series he executive produces, when the fifth season begins next month. And his third child with fiancee Rhea Durham is due in September.
In October, Wahlberg returns to his action-star roots with “Max Payne,” a crime-thriller based on a gritty video game. Meanwhile, he’ll start training for his role in “The Fighter,” playing boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward.
“I’m thrilled,” Wahlberg told The Associated Press in a recent interview. “Life couldn’t be better.”

Wahlberg disses Clooney’s ‘Ocean’s’ films

Long before Matt Damon took on the role of second-generation grifter Linus Caldwell in “Ocean’s Eleven,” Mark Wahlberg had a shot at the part and turned it down. Looking back at it, Mark doesn’t regret his decision to skip what turned out to be a blockbuster franchise. In fact, he told Zoo magazine, he’s better off not having to pretend he enjoyed working on the films.

When Zoo asked the actor if he really refused to work in the “Ocean’s” films, he said, “Yeah — and it was well worth it,” adding, “the second one sucked!”

Apparently Mark’s no fan of the Hollywood backslapping that goes on when the material doesn’t merit it. “People tell George Clooney it’s great, but we all know it sucked,” the “Boogie Nights” star said. “I made two bad movies instead — ‘Planet of the Apes’ and ‘The Truth About Charlie’ — but doing that was better than sitting with Brad (Pitt) and George, telling the press how great everybody is! ‘We were in Europe, George was funny, then we had some wine …’ — that’s not for me.”

Mark Wahlberg to Become Third-Time Dad

With two toddlers already keeping him busy, Mark Wahlberg is getting ready to add a third child to the mix.

And the 37-year-old actor and his longtime girlfriend Rhea Durham, 29, may not stop there.

“When the kids are good, we want eight or nine,” Wahlberg said Monday in L.A. while promoting his new film, The Happening. “When they’re bad, we [want] to stop at three.”

That 70’s Show Chick got a real gig…

Twentieth Century Fox has set Mila Kunis to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in “Max Payne,” the John Moore-directed action adaptation of the Rockstar videogame. Kunis, best known for a long run on “That ’70s Show” and voicing the androgynous teen Meg Griffin in “Family Guy,” will play an assassin who teams up with the title character to avenge her sister’s death. Wahlberg plays Payne, a cop haunted by the tragic loss of his family who finds himself in the thick of a conspiracy when he investigates a series of murders.
