Mary Elizabeth Winstead joins Michael Cera in Edgar Wright’s “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”
Mary Elizabeth Winstead is in negotiations to star opposite Michael Cera in Universal’s “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.” Edgar Wright is directing the adventure romance.
In “Pilgrim,” Winstead will play the dream woman of a young slacker (Cera). But the only way he can win her heart is by battling and defeating her seven evil ex-boyfriends.
The project is based on the Oni Press graphic novel “Scott Pilgrim Volume 1: Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life,” written by Bryan Lee O’Malley. Michael Bacall and Wright wrote the screenplay.
Michael Cera on that Arrested Development Movie…?
First, to Arrested Development: The Movie, which would give the show the send-off it deserves. Jason Bateman has mentioned the possibility several times in the past and last we heard the show’s creator Mitch Hurwitz was actively pursuing it. So, what has Cera heard about the possible big-screen bow of the Bluths? “I’ve heard that they want to do it, and I know Jason really wants to do it. I think it’s definitely possible, but there’s no script or anything,” he said. “Hopefully it’ll have a kinder fate than the show, and that people who don’t know the show would see it.”
