Fat Val Kilmer among cast in ‘Experiment’

Things are heating up for Val Kilmer, Armand Assante, Eric Roberts, Megan Brown and Patrick Muldoon in the indie suspense thriller “The Steam Experiment.”

The feature, revolving around six people trapped and terrorized in an urban Turkish bathhouse, marks a return to directing for its Cinepro Pictures producer Philippe Martinez.

Kilmer plays a former university professor who overheats his hostages to prove that humans will devolve into chaos under the pressures of global warming. He tells a detective (Assante) that their location will be revealed if his hypothesis is printed as the local paper’s front-page headline.

The six potential victims are a former pro football player (Roberts), a former actress (Brown), a nurse (Muldoon), a waitress (Eve Mauro), a restaurateur (Quinn Duffy) and a writer (Cordelia Reynolds). As temperatures rise, the desperate detainees fight for survival.

Val Kilmer Has A Fake Identity

The man who is Nick Rivers and Gay Perry, has signed on to star in a film called Fake Identity.

He’ll play an American doctor working in Chechnya (oh, political) who finds his life is in danger after he helps a mysterious woman escape from a would-be attacker.

The film will be directed by the wonderfully-named Dennis Dimster-Denk, from a script he co-wrote with Zvia Dimbort. And if you’re thinking about making any Dim and Dimmer jokes, then shame on you.

Fake Identity will begin shooting at the end of the month in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Val Kilmer Created Austin Powers’ Mini-Me?

From MTV:

“[I created] Mini Me you know,” Kilmer confessed to MTV News, revealing once and for all his own role in skyrocketing Verne Troyer to fame. “[I was] the genesis of Mini Me.”

Doubt if you want. Me? I believe it. And how could I not? The story is so strange and improbable that it absolutely HAS to be true.

“[On] ‘Island of Dr. Moreau’ I told Marlon Brando my plan to save my performance just in case there was a giant whole in the second half - I was going to strap the little man to my chest,” Kilmer insisted, completely unaware, perhaps, of how terribly strange that plan sounds even in retrospect. “And, you know, you can’t get around that visual. And then he [Brando] STOLE my little man!”

Yes, yes he did. And it was bizarre. But even more bizarre is that Mike Myers apparently watched it and thought, “Now, THAT’S what I’ve been looking for!”

“I asked Mike Myers about it myself. He said, ‘absolutely’ [it came from that movie],” Kilmer said of the idea for Dr. Evil’s pint-sized clone. “Same studio made it. And he saw a screening and said, ‘that’s really funny.’”

Again, we want Val Kilmer cast as the Blob in the new Wolverine movie! Agree, disagree?
